Distinct Report Parameter Values

How to display only distinct values/labels in a report parameter drop down?
The values are generated from the main query of the report. Thx. JLYou should have a dataset that is specifically for your report parameter. As
a matter of fact, you have it a little reversed. The report parameters
should be used to limit the query. If you are getting the data and then
using the report parameters to filter the report, you should re-evaluate. In
most cases you should limit the data coming over using query parameters
mapped to report parameters. If you filter the data and the data is of any
significant size you will have performance problems.

Displaying report parameters in report header or body

Hi,
I like to see in the generated report what the parameters value are for the
current report like startdate and enddate
Thanx WimmoYou can do this by adding a textboxes to the page header and using
expressions like:
=Parameters!startdate.Value
=Parameters!enddate.Value

Displaying member name instead of key in query

In the tools that I have used for getting generated MDX queries (Query Analyzer, Proclarity, Excel) the query always seems to show the key value instead of the member name.

Is it possible or is there a query tool that will generate queries with the member name instead?

See example:

[Organization].&[152551]

Should read

[Organization].[By Division]

thanks,

Andrew

Set "MemberNamesUnique" to True for a particular attribute. That should do it|||

Thanks! Didn't even have to reprocess!

cheers,

Andrew

Display report bar and "Report Being Generated" message

We are accessing reporting services from our webserver via the RS
webservice. The RS server is behind our firewall. Currently, when we call
the report, we have a blank page and the browser continues loading the
report without giving any real feedback to the user. At that point, we only
display the report.. ie no toolbar etc. Is there a way via the Web Service
to display the Report toolbar as well as the "Report being generated"
message?
ThanksI have the same problem, i.e. report displayed, but no toolbar or "report
being generated" message. Did you find a solution? I use webrequest.
WebRequest myWebRequest = WebRequest.Create(url);
WebResponse myWebResponse = myWebRequest.GetResponse();
Thanks

previously, i tried Parameters!empno.value because i only filter by 1
value but will have error. so i didn't think that the Join function
will work.
thanks.

display of dynamically generated queries

I wonder, if there is a way to display the dynamically generated
sqlstatement in a report.
I'm doing a lot with dynamically created queries and sometimes it'd be
very handy, if i could see the finally generated sqlstatement. I tried
the profiler, which works, and I want it nicer !
Thanks for any suggestions
ChrisThe closest you can get today, is to add a textbox to the report and
copy&paste the expression you use for the query into the textbox. Therefore,
the textbox will evaluate to the same value as the query.
We have already a tracking item for this (exposing the commandtext in the
ReportObjectModel) and it will be evaluated for inclusion in a future
release. Thanks for the suggestion.
